Consider Options: Question is why are you requiring Benadryl (diphenhydramine) so often? If you have allergy symptoms that require antihistmines I would take non-sedating antihistamines during the daytime like Zyrtec, Allegra, or Claritin. They are longer acting and less sedating than Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Reserve Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for breakthrough symptoms and at night. That being said, if you have minimal sedation than another dose should be fine.

Anthitamin allerg: Benardryl and xyzal (levocetirizine) are different molecules, allergy to one does not cross react with the other.

No caffeine: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is not effective as a sleep aid and has never improved sleep any more than a sugar pill (placebo) in good studies.  It can, however, reduce quality of sleep or in some people actually keep you up by causing agitation (more likely in children though)  Zocor is unlikely to affect sleep.  
3mg of melatonin taken 4hours before bedtime can be a safe and effective OTC sleep aid in some people.

It depends: The best way to treat insomnia most of the time is with improved sleep hygiene - avoid late day naps or caffeine, only use your bed for sleeping, and ensure you have a proper diet and exercise.  Sedation is a side effect of the medicines you mentioned, patients may feel more sedate from either one depending on many things.

Read label: You can take as many pills as directed by label as often as directed by label. Do not attempt to exceed amount or frequency. Be aware that even over-the-counter medications (and dietary supplements) can interact & even interfere w/prescription medications. So always tell your family physician (and other doctors) everything that you're taking whether prescribed or not.
