Need exam: Rashes around the eyes need an exam. As you describe a "bubbly" rash, i would recommend an examination to make sure that this isn't a herpes silmplex virus infection, which can be serious around the eye, ; can affect the ocular surface. Treatment with oral antiviral agents and topical medication may be necessary.

Eyelid itching with: Swelling is usually indicative of an allergic reaction. Contact allergy can be responsible and treated with topical ophthalmic anti-inflammatory ointment prescribed from your ophthalmologist. Other common causes could include blepharitis (eyelid margin infection) and variations thereof, eczema and infection. Have it looked at by your eyecare provider for definitive diagnosis.

my right eyelid has been swollen for three weeks now. sometimes it itches, sometimes it burns. its worse when i wake up in the morning. help?

Sounds like: BLEPHARITIS   an inflammation sometimes bacterial of the eyelid...Antibiotics may be necessary. Suggest you contact your PCP for your next step.

Allergy?: If your vision is unchanged and this has been going on for months, the most likely is an allergic conjunctivitis. You will need to see your eye md for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

my upper eyelid itches and is dry can i use clotrimazole for this?

Accepted Answer

Probably useless: Clotrimazole is an effective anti-skin fungal. Fungal infection of the lids is extremely rare.  You might get a little benefit from the cream the clotrimazole is dissolved in. If the lid is dry, first start with any kind of skin cream and see if that helps.  If the itching persists you can try over the counter cortisone cream applied very lightly once or twice per day.

Chalazion or stye: You may have a gland that is blocked or a stye.  Usually stye point in and painful.  Chalazion usually painless and point out.  If you are bothered see a doctor to fix it.

Blepharitis: This is an inflammation of the eyelids. If it has been present for a month, you will need to see an eye doctor. The soreness is suggestive of an infection vs itching an allergic reaction.

Conjunctivitis: Given the fact eye infection associated with upper respiratory infection, viral conjunctivitis is suspected.  However, since ear infection is also  found not infrequently in this circumstance,  I would recommend her be checked by her primary care provider.

i have what looks like a small wart/pimple on the inside of my eyelid, its the same size as that thin line of skin below the eyelashes. itches a bit.

It sounds like it: could be a stye or hordeolum. You can try applying warm compresses to the area a few times/day and if it is not improving or if it is enlarging, you should have your doctor take a look.
