No: Eyelids can droop for many reasons:  excessive skin, stretching of the connective tissues that connect the muscles to the structures of the eyelid, abnormalities of the nerves controlling those muscles, or a problem with the way the connective tissues are formed that you are born with.  Unfortunately, excercise won't help.  An eye doctor can identify the cause and appropriate treatment is.

Depends: Depending on what is causing the ptosis, medications or eyelid surgeries are available to help correct it. There are also non-surgical options if you wear glasses in the form of a ptosis crutch. See your eye doctor first to determine the cause of the ptosis.

No: If the drooping loids are due to myasthenia gravis, medication can help.

Sometimes weight loss can slightly reduce drooping of lids.

Can be: If the drooping eyelid is interfering with your periferal vision to a significant amount that is determined by a test called "visual field test", then most insurances cover the procidure..
This test is performed by your eye doctor.  You should check with your insurance that the eyelid surgery is included in your coverage.  Some insurance plans exclude that entierly regardless of medical necessity.

Usually aging: There are many causes of a drooping eyelid.  The most common cause is aging, which can result in the eyelid muscle becoming loose and detached from the eyelid.  Other causes include nerve problems, such as a 3rd nerve palsy, horner's syndrome, or myasthenia gravis (these may require urgent evaluation).  Children born with drooping eyelids may have weak eyelid muscles.  Most causes can be treated.

It depends: Eyelids can be droopy for lots of reasons.  In kids it is generally due to a poorly developed muscle. In adults it can be due to a stretched out muscle attachment or due to a disease that affects the muscle's contraction.  It is generally fixed by a surgery to either reattach or shorten the muscle and tendon that raise the eyelid, or by using a sling material to suspend the eyelid open.

It's possible: As an oculoplastic surgeon, i certainly see many patients with drooping eyelids who state their mother and grandmother had the same problem.  So it does seem to run in families, but it is no guarantee.

Accepted Answer

Maybe: Amblyopia is a condition resulting after the brain decides to turn off the visual input of one eye because it presents a blurred, weak or distorted image that does not match up to that of the other sharper eye. If a drooping lid covered one eye enough to distort the image, amblyopia might result. If both lids droop equally or do not distort the image, i doubt it would.

Find cause first: See your opthalamologist first to establish a diagnosis and determine the cause. This may be one of the first indications of a serious underlying diseased. In most instances it is generally due to aging and repair will depend on the severity with some requiring a tuck of the muscle and other procedures reattaching  the muscle. When the muscle has failed altogether, other muscles may be used.
