this week i noticed this rough patch in the soft palate of my mouth. it doesn't hurt unless i scratch it real hard. but i can feel it with my tongue. i also have something similar near right hinge inside my mouth (behind wisdom teeth). what is this?

: No way to tell without a visual examination. Unfortunately many lesions present initially as rough patches. Please see your Dentist, a specialist Oral Surgeon, specialist Oral Pathologist, or Oral Medicine Specialist. Your local Dental Society should be able to provide you with a list of specialists in your area.

No: The expander is used for orthodontic treatment, not as a substitute for wisdom tooth removal. If you need them extracted, extract them.

Irrelevant: Red dots on soft palate can be because of some irritant or allergy, regardless of wisdom teeth surgery. If cornered, see your surgeon for post-op appointment.

Red dots: "Red dots" is not a diagnosis, merely a description, so can't tell without an examination.  Assuming it was an Oral Surgeon who removed your wisdom teeth, anything pathological would have been noted at the time of your surgery.  Return to the Oral Surgeon to have your red dots examined.

Possibly: If the lump feels stone hard and immovable and it is not painful to touch it might be a Torus Palatinus - a natural and normal part of your mouth. If on the other hand the lump is different than the above description, you should see your dentist and have it checked out.

You need a dentist!: And your question(s) is ?   See a dentist to evaluate your symptoms, diagnose the problem(s) and recommend treatment.  Swelling usually indicates an infection which if left untreated can lead to serious complications.  Therefore, the sooner you see a dentist for treatment, the sooner you will feel better and be out of danger.

Rinse and brush: You should still be able to rinse vigorously , not disturbing the healing blood clots if present, with warm salt water, brush back to the second molars and floss as well.  The "feeling" is a warning.  You need  better oral hygiene habits.  Not a lecture.....Just the truth.

Jaw cleaned?: Don't know what you mean by that. Please contact the General Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon that did your extraction. Post surgical care is that practitioners responsibility. Let the Dentist decide what is or is not related to your procedure.

Any adult brush: I am not aware of any tooth brush that has been designed specifically for wisdom teeth.  The technique and way you brush your teeth is more important than the design of the brush.  Any adult brush was mentioned only to allow adequate length for the brush to reach the wisdom teeth.
