See below: Type a influenza can be shortened by using certain drugs but it must be started as soon as possible.  There is no drug for type b flu.  If you think you have the flu get to doctor right away to be tested for type a flu.  It is always wise to get the flu shot every year.

No cure: There is no cure for the common cold or the flu. There are symptomatic medications that can help you deal with the symptoms but usually the virus just needs to run its course. For the flu there are flu vaccines that work to try to prevent the flu but they are not foolproof. There are also some medications that can be taken at the first sign of flu to shorten the course of it. Talk to your doctor.

No cure for flu: You don't "cure" the flu.  It's a viral infection, and we have a cure for only one viral infection: hepatitis c.  The flu just has to get better on its own.  The only things we know of that will speed that process up are anti-influenza drugs like tamiflu (oseltamivir).
