Tanning Bed: One tanning bed treatment increases the incidence of melanoma by 20%. Frequent exposure to tanning beds before 35 increases the incidence of melanoma 85 times. If you want to protect your skin, you will not go to the tanning bed.

If your skin is already sensitive, your risk of sunburn in a tanning bed will go way up. Not to mention the overall danger of getting melanoma from a tanning bed in general. All things considered, avoid tanning altogether, but failing that, at least until your skin has cleared up. Hope this helps!

Burnt buns: I'm so sorry. You need to get as much cool water to the area as you can to reduce the heat in the skin cells. Try standing in the shower with just your butt in the water stream and keep the water as cool as you can stand. Alternative is to put cold washcloths or towels on, changing them to keep them cool. Apply heavy coat of water based moisturizer every few hours. Take Ibuprofen by mouth for pain.

No, not dangerous: Red dots that appear in the exposed area after a severe sunburn are not dangerous, and if they represent capillary damage they will fade in a week or so (depending on the degree of injury). If they last longer they could be cherry angiomas, another benign condition.

Psoriasis: Tar shampoo and a prescription corticosteriod lotion will usually help.  It is possible to get ultraviolet light treatments to your scalp. See your dermatologist for evaluation and therapy.

The use of tanning beds increases the incidence of melanoma by 74%. Do not start using a tanning bed or you will be sorry.

Rash causes: I doubt that the tanning rays caused a rash, but it is possible that you might have had a reaction to the solution used to clean the tanning bed before you used it.  It is also possible that the person before you had a lotion on that was not fully removed and you had a reaction to that.
