Microvascular: Technique. Urologist made incision in upper scrotum and tied off multiple tributeries of the left spermatic vein. This one of three sugical techniques used, others being ligating the main left spermatic vein via a suprapubic, retroperitoneal approach or laparoscopically. Every urologist has his/her favorite approach.

Post-op swelling: Not really.  You should call the urologist and be examined.  It sounds as if you may have a hematoma in the scrotum and this would need attention.

: Touching the area of recent surgery can cause local pain. Use a heating pad over your unerwear to the area and wear a good supporting underwear and you will be OK in a few days. Hope you feel better.

: About 20% of the population have varicocele and about 40% of people with varicocele have infertility. Bilateral varicocele is relatively uncommon- its mostly on the left. If you want to postpone the procedure then a yearly follow-up would be good.

Yes: After you have fully healed from your procedure, you should have no residual problems with erections or ejaculation.  This may take 2-3 months before the swelling is down and healing almost complete.
