No: Any lesion requiring surgery and/or radiation is not normal.

Nosebleed: This is not typical.  Go see your surgeon for treatment.

would a rhinoplasty make me more susceptible to nose bleeds? i get nosebleeds occasionally. will having a rhinoplasty increase this occurance? should i expect a few nosebleeds after the surgery?

Possible : Possible but rare. Expect no change in bleeding pattern.

Nose bleeds: Best to have your daughter evaluated by an ENT and a Dentist, preferably practitioners who are part of a cleft-palate team.  If there is no cleft team in your area ask your Pediatrician for referral.  Note also that there are developmental decisions that should be addressed now by the Orthodontist and Prosthodontist on the cleft team.

Frequent : Frequent nose bleeds and easy bruising with a small needle (botox) suggests "thin" blood such as we see with Aspirin or vitamin E users.  You should discuss this with your primary care doctor and have your platelet count and clotting factors checked.  This can simply be hereditary.

i feel pain to the touch on the bridge of my nose. i have had no injury. i have had sinus surgery in the past but this was never a symptom.

Accepted Answer

Infection on: nose could spread easily to your brain, so you should see a doctor.  Unexplained pain anywhere is cause for concern.

had sinus surgery six weeks ago. was using neti pot 4 times a day for 4 weeks. was experiencing etd symptoms. switched to saline spray. used a few times 3 days ago. etd has gotten worse. nose constantly runs. will this resolve itself?

Accepted Answer

: You should switch nasal saline to nasacort or nasonex (OTC), twice a day, as a trial. The inhaler can slow down the runny nose (rhinorrhea) and open the eustachian opening.

See doctor: You should have mostly recovered from the surgery by now.  Contact surgeon to make sure that you are not having complications.
