i often tell my patients to let pain be their guide. If you had any stitches or tears these should heal prior to the resumption of sexual intercourse.  

You can also start all other sexual activities as soon as you desire as long as you save penetration to when it does not hurt.

Still healing: Having a baby is a wonderful but a significant experience for the body.  Whether it's done by cesarean or vagina your body is still healing.  Also, it depends if you have pain prior to pregnancy, how long it's been since having intercourse, if you have an infection, or had a major tear in your vagina.  If infection has been ruled out consider going to your provider, use lubricant, & pelvic therapy.

: Labor and delivery can cause significant trauma to the vagina, cervix and uterus. They all need time to heal. Depending on the trauma of the delivery (whether stitches were needed, forceps were used or there was tearing) the minimum time for healing is 4 weeks. The more traumatic deliveries may require 6-8 weeks for recovery. Intercourse earlier than this may result in pain, bleeding and infection

Increased infection: There is an increased risk for infections if you have intercourse in the immediate time frame after delivery.    There cervix typically is not fully closed and this can allow more bacteria into the uterus and upper genital tract.     It's better to wait 6 weeks following delivery after your physician has examined you and given you the go ahead.

See a gynecologist: It is possible to have a thinned out area after a vaginal delivery.  That could case pain with intercourse.  It may be possible to repair.

I : I cannot tell you the stastical chance that you are pregnant.  However, it is possible to become pregnant five weeks after giving birth even if you have not restarted your period.

my dip,mip,pip joints are very painful started around 35 weeks and cts has developed and hurting at night so will all symptoms reduce after delivery ?

Most likely: Stay positive, keep your joints moving, may take ES Tylenol (acetaminophen) if pain is significant, or even Tylenol (acetaminophen) PM which may help you sleep better
