: Long term use an alcohol pad on skin could cause excessive dryness.   I would recommend keeping a close eye on the skin to make sure this does not develop.

Topical, right?: I am assuming you mean topically during massage. Rubbing alocohol can do a couple of things to help get a massage deeper into muscles or relax them. First, the temper change and sensation on nerve endings in your skin can help muscles relax. NO!!! TOXIC!!!: Rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol. It's safe to apply to small amounts of the skin but is toxic in large amounts. Bathing in it is hazardous as you would breathe in the fumes which can cause irritation of mouth and nose, headaches, drowsiness, trouble breathing, fainting and even death. It can also irritate the skin. DO NOT TRY THIS!
