See below: Food allergy is diagnosed by taking a history. Skin testing and/or blood testing is utilized to support the clinical suspicion of food allergy. Skin testing / blood testing should never be done in the absence of a proper history documenting a potential food allergy ( with few exceptions). Based upon the results of one's history and testing, decisions can be made about consuming the food.

Food allergy: Blood tests and skin tests are not very helpful in diagnosing food allergy.
It is okay to eat those foods as long as there are no allergic symptoms.

You won't feel well: If you have celiac disease eating gluten results in gut pain, bloating, diarrhea, & inability to absorb nutrients leading to starvation & dangerous weight loss. The allergic mechanism of allergy to corn & rice is different than gluten. Symptoms vary from nausea & vomiting to hives, difficulty breathing & even anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction. Kids, don't try this at home.

No: Food allergy can present at any times in your life. Eating certain foods everyday does not increase your risk of getting allergy to that particular food. Instead, you have a higher risk of getting food allergy if you have other atopic diseases like allergic rhinitis, asthma, urticaria, eczema, and other food allergies....

Food allergy: There are all kinds of food allergy panels that can be done at once, but are you sure you have a food allergy? Do you reliably get the same symptoms each time with eating a particular food? Rash? swelling? Wheezing?

Keep trying: A 6 month old really does not know what they like and dislike.  Some children do not take to certain foods, while others seem to take to all of them.  One technique is to give the child the same food for a week.  In particular, try the vegetables first, and avoid the fruits, as they are much sweeter.

Check online : There is a lot of information on line. Check organizations with information about your food allergies as well as blogs. A lot restaraunts have web pages and will note their ability to handle food allergies. Also look at menu to see if they have any dishes that fit with what you can eat. Call place and ask if they adapt dishes to fit your need.

Hard to tell: But if it has been present for 3 days and not getting better, it is only prudent for you to consult your doctor about this issue especially if you have been to a less developed country within the past 2 weeks.

Certainly: Allergy reactions require that you have had a prior exposure; you can't have an allergy to something you have never been exposed to.  Allergies, including food allergies, can appear later in life. You should find a good allergy doctor and get tested.

Should be fine: There are no guarantees but if one has eaten a food in the past and has not had a reaction to that food then the patient is at no greater risk than the general population to eat that food in the future.
