Yes: Polyps are a result of some type of inflammation in the colon, whether it be from a colitis or long term cellular damage that changes the bowel cell morphology and leads to abnormal cell growth and polyp formation.

A cold can last 7-10: Common cold is very common in infants and toddlers. Average symptoms can last usually around 7 days. Should be evaluated after 7 days of symptoms. As long as the symptoms are just clear nasal discharge, its ok for up to days. If the symptoms last beyond that or if it is associated with fever , cough or green nasal discharge, should be evaluated to r/o sinusitis.

over the past year my baby (now 18 mo) has had glucose tested 5 times. non fasting is consistently 105-115. is that normal?

Baby blood sugar: The non- fasting blood sugars you mentioned seem within normal limits.   I have to think your pediatrician is concerned about something if they have checked your baby's blood sugar 5 times in a short period of time.  If you have not already, I recommend you talk to your pediatrician about their concerns.

Normal: 28 to 30 day cycles are the average.  The cycles can vary in that range for the same woman from month to month and still be perfectly normal.

Surgery: This really depends on the type of surgery and if you are still having issues. In general healing has occurred and the pain if any should be non existent or minimal to say the least.

is it normal for a baby to be able to walk backwards at 14 mo?

Yes: The accepted range for this skill to emerge is 12.3-21 mo in children born at term. The expectation may adjuster for degree of prematurity but many have caught up to term born kids by this age.

i had an exam while 6 mo pregnant and they had to do the swabs and open me up and i bled a bit during the exam is this normal?

Yes: The cervix bleeds very easily during pregnancy and its common to have a little bleeding after an exam.  I always tell my patients they may have some bleeding because if you are not expecting it, it can be frightening.  If you continue to have spotting or bleeding you should call you doctor and ask him/her about it.  Best wishes!

what would cause bilirubin to rise very suddenly (to almost double) then completely go back down? went up 4 mo. ago and been normal ever since.

Some ideas: If you have mild Gilbert's and get sick for a few days with a mild viral illness, the indirect bilirubin can skyrocket. Taking a medication that your liver doesn't like can do this. A common duct stone. An episode of hemolysis -- were you sick / have you ever been checked for G6PD deficiency, etc., etc. Lots of possibilities. I'll bet you never find out why -- and hopefully it won't happen again.

switched bc brands 5 mo ago. getting a period every other month. when i get it- extremely heavy & lasts over 2 wks. my dr said this was normal?

Well, happens...: if it occurred in the first two cycles on the new birth control method that is most likely the reason. It does not seem likely to be something else.
