You'reAnOldSaltAt33!: It you are taking your salt pills for the medical conditions you listed, then you need them, in addition to the other medications prescribed. You never want to get dehydrated or salt-depleted. Take the pills with an easily swallowable gooey food like a bite of banana or with ice cream or peanut butter. You could also calculate how much salt you need a day and add at least some of that to your food

Difficulty falling: asleep is often associated w/anxiety while waking up early and not returning to sleep is associated w/depression.  Periodic waking is associated w/overall light sleep.  Please see you doc who may order a sleep study.  A psychologist can help w/stress management. Peace and good health.  Natural treatment includes melatonin supplement but w/professional guidance.  Stop all stimulants after noon.

The common offenders are dairy products, beans, lentils & veg like peas &beans.
First eliminate dairy products except yogurt for 2-4 weeks & monitor the amount of gas.

Flatulence.: I would add a probiotic to your daily nutritional regimen.  Excess gas sometimes from bacterial overgrowth in the intestines, which we can combat with probiotics.  This could also be a dietary issue - diets high in protein can lead to excess flatulence.

Another reason could be lactose intolerance, in which one can't digest the lactose (milk sugar) she eats. Again, bacteria will feed on it. Drinking lactose-free milk and eating less fiber, should decrease gas. Intestinal infections, or using antibiotics, can also cause gas and loose stools.
