Yes, it can!: Morphine is a strong narcotic pain medication that can make you very drowsy, especially if you've never taken any before.  Additionally, if your kidney function is slower than normal, the effects of morphine can be prolonged. Prevention: main thing would be constant decent input of water. My urologist recommended about 1-2 liters a day. Having a decent amount of vitamin D and calcium to stabilize bones helps. Avoiding squash and okra due to oxalic acid might be important in a few people.

Hope it's small : Stones greater than 5mm in diameter may be too large to pass without help. Drink lots of water ; ask your urologist if tamsulosin, which can dilate ureter on affected side, would be helpful for you. Otherwise other options are ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy or shockwave lithotripsy. Good luck.
