Looks at face: Babies may be able to recognize eye contact from their parents days after birth.   Babies may iniate  direct eye contact/looking at face at about 6 to 8 weeks but this is variable.

have had crusty bits deep in head under foreskin of penis for about 5 mo. was grayish-white when first noticed in april, but is now white. painless, virgin, & 20y/o. going to try & see doc asap. saw it was a skin cancer symptom online & im worried.

More likely benign: The foreskin can trap a simple skin secretion called smegma. This is a normal material similar to the earwax that can accumulate there. It is less a problem if/when a male retracts the foreskin completely to wash it off on a regular basis. It is fine that you have this checked out, but I wouldn't stress so much before you do.

Likely normal: Sometimes normal children can do that. Try to teach your child to demonstrate frustration in other ways ( like jumping). If the child does not interact well with others I would have him seen by a pediatician.

Yes: If the measurements you listed are accurate, you have a kid whose length is far below the 3rd percentile for a 3 mo &amp; a head circumference at the 98% for a 9mo. This may be fine for various forms of little people but the measurements don't add up to anything expected. Rapidly increasing head size deserves a study of what is inside. Ultrasound may work at this age.

Yes: If the measurements you listed are accurate, you have a kid whose length is 85 % /weight  95% &amp; head size &gt;98% for age. By themselves, the measurements are not too unusual. However if the HC has crossed growth lines by this amount in 2 months a study of the skull contents is warranted. Ultrasound through the soft spot or a CT would help separate the problems from a simple large head.

my 10 mo old fell and hit the corner of a piece of furinture, hitting his face at the inside corner of his eye. acting normal, should i take him to dr?

Probably Not: If no laceration, no vomiting, acting normally, the risk of missing of intra-cranial bleed is very low.  Sounds like he hit his/her eye and did not suffer significant head trauma.   If any concerns, lethargy, vomiting, seizure, go to the nearest emergency room.

my 21 mo old fell out of bed, don't think she hit her head, 5 min later she threw up but is acting normal otherwise! advice? its been over an hr now and shes still ok but gave her some milk and she threw it up

The : The american academy of pediatrics recommends that you call your child's doctor for advice for anything more than a light bump on the head. If your child is alert, moving normally and responsive to you, then it's most likely a mild injury and you can follow up with your child's doctor in a day or two. It's ok to let them sleep/nap at this point if they are tired. If your child worsens, however, then that would be a reason to go to the emergency room.

Other reasons to seek emergency care are: 
-vomiting 
-worsening headache 
-confusion 
-slurred speech 
-changes in behavior such as increasing irritability or fussiness 
-worsening coordination such as trouble walking or clumsiness 
-seizures 
-changes in pupils such as one larger than the other 
-lasting or recurrent dizziness 
-blood or fluid coming from the nose or ears 
- large bumps or bruises on areas other than the forehead - especially in infants

a good rule of thumb is when in doubt, get it checked out!  give your child's doctor a call with any questions.

Yes, but: Anytime a parent has concerns about head size/shape, it deserves close monitoring because things change very rapidly at this age. The exam and measurements should occur monthly until all sutures have closed on the skull, usually 9-12 months of age. The ridge is likely the normal closure of the skull bones occurring, but needs to be monitored so it does not happen too soon.

See your PCP: for examination and tests to rule out temporal arteritis. Initially the headache may be the only presenting symptom with the temporal and occipital regions being the most common locations. Tender spots or nodules may be present in the scalp, especially over inflamed arteries. See your PCP for evaluation and diagnosis.
