Not proven safe: The extraordinarily large doses of the vitamins in this product can result in high blood levels, which in turn can mean excessive levels in breast milk. The caffeine component is also passed through breastmilk. Experts recommend minimizing caffeine use in breastfeeding mothers. Stick to a regular prenatal vitamin and a healthy diet and exericse until your child has weaned.

Simethicone: Always discuss meds  with your OB, but simethicone products should be safe for you. They made an infant formula liquid drops as well.

Safe and recommended: Not only is fish oil safe, but highly recommended as the best source of dha in breast milk, which is important for the health of your baby's brain & eyes. 
There is no single best brand but i recommend brands that have undergone "pharmaceutical-grade molecular distillation" to remove toxins & which are emulsified to improve digestion. Good brands include nordic naturals, pharmax, designs for health.

is laser tooth whitening safe for everyone? i've read that mothers who are nursing maybe shouldn't have laser tooth whitening done, but i'm curious as to what can happen. is it bad for the baby, or bad for the mother?

There : There is not enough data showing that bleaching your teeth will pose a significant risk to you or your baby. Unfortunately, we don't have enough data to say it's safe, either.

The peroxide used in bleaching causes an oxidative process, and we know that oxidation can be harmful to tissues and cells. It is usually not a problem for adults, but how it affects infants is unknown.

For that reason, women who are nursing should not have their teeth bleached.

i'm a nursing mother to a 9 month old baby. i want to go to the salon and have my hair colored or something soon. is it safe (for baby) if i go and get my hair colored, dyed, bleached or treated at a hair salon? i only ask this because i am nursing?

: It should be fine, but avoid chemical odors around the baby in general. Continue to nurse, remember your 9 month old check up with your Pediatrician.  At this age, the baby should have a healthy well balanced diet which incorporates baby food for age three times daily. Review the growth chart at the next visit, and eligible family members should have a COVID 19 vaccination series.

Intravaginal: It is probably safe in a short course orally but I would prefer to use the intravaginal treatment when breast feeding.

Should not be a pbm: The procedure and eyedrops, etc. Involved in the lasik procedure should not affect the breast milk production or baby in any way. Whether it is reasonable to get the procedure is a question for your pocket book & your specific situation.Your doc can provide the pros & cons & you come up with a decision based on the information you have.

No: There are many types of ginseng -- asian, chinese, siberian, american, etc. But a few types of asian/eastern ginseng have been shown to cause birth defects in animal pregnancies.
So...Very high risk for very low reward.

Couple of reasons:: Horsetail contains some nicotine, which is not good for kids (or adults). Also, like other herbal supplements, there are no large studies showing risks and benefits in anyone, and none in kids. Lastly, herbal supplements are not regulated by the FDA and can be poor quality,  contain contaminants, or other junk. Don&#x27;t risk it.
