Ok if healed/closed: It is ok if the wound i'd completely healed and closed. Otherwise talc in a wound can cause increased scarring.

Talcum powder,no: Talcum powder in the vulvar area has been associated with a number of different long term issues. Aspirin is actually being used to help prevent pregnancy induced hypertension (pre eclampsia).

: There are no conflicting opinions. Talcum powder should not be used and has been implicated in ovarian cancer. There are other things on the OTc market you can use

Neat and clean with: a pleasant disposition is the way to go.  That will bring more light to our world than a lighter face. Please don't measure your self-worth by skin color.  One day your opinion may reverse and you may want to darken your face. Talcum unlikely prob: Studies show that talcum powder, which is a silicate like asbestos, is not likely to cause ovarian cancer. Studies investigated the introduction of talc on talc dusted diaphragms and condoms and concluded that it was not likely the cause. Correlation, not causation. The USPST recommends women get their pap smear and genetic testing and because HPV is associated with cervical cancer. See OB/GYN.

Chronic use, yes: Chronic use of talcum powder in the vaginal area has been shown to increase the likelihood of certain GYN cancers.

what is the difference between cornstarch baby powder and talcum baby powder?

Ingedient: Corn starch is used in most baby powders today because it is safer, particularly if you breath some of it in. Talc is made from the mineral talc and can be harmful to the lungs if breathed in in sufficient quantities. We don't recommend talc for babies.

i used arm and hammer talcum body powder on my feet for like 6 months. didnt know the risks, but havent used it in almost a year. am i now at a higher risk for ovarian cancer? :(?

: No risk at all. The connection between ovarian cancer and talcum powder is from use in the genital area or directly in the vagina. There is no risk from using it on the feet or elsewhere on the body. And the risk primarily involved older versions of talcum powder that also contained small amounts of asbestos, which hasn't been sold in the US for many years.
