can i take 5htp and gaba with zoloft (sertraline) and clonazepam? if so what is the safe amount of each? i am on 50mg of zoloft (sertraline).

Not recommended: Both zoloft (sertraline) and 5thp will increase serotonin levels.  The doses are often not well standardized in supplements - so you can't always be sure of the amount of active substance you are getting. Best to talk over with your prescribing psychiatrist. He or she can raise dose of zoloft (sertraline) if indicated.

Use caution: There is not enough information available to say that it is a safe combination. Use with caution if taking Klonopin (clonazepam) as GABA works at same site in brain and over sedation is possible. Discuss your plans with your physician and ask his advice.

I cannot think of anything theoretically that would cause harm, but, as with most supplements, they are not fda controlled, so you take them at your own risk.

i take sertraline and metoprolol for anxiety (and physical symptoms it causes like increases in bp). instead of taking a clonazapam during stressful times, could a supplement like gaba be a good options? no drug interactions?
