i take 100 mg of gabbapentin 3 times daily for trigeminal neuralgia. i try to take it at 10 am, 4 pm, and 11 pm. with such a minimal dosage, would there be a problem having a glass of wine in the evening every once in a while?

: Cymbalta's starting dose for chronic musculoskeletal pain / fibromyalgia is 30mg/day; max dose is 60mg/day. For neuropathy, starting/max dose is 60mg. Patients with a history of depression or anxiety with chronic pain benefit treating both. Alcohol may enhance side effects, such as psychomotor impairment and liver damage. Weight gain AND loss are reported as rare side effects by the manufacturer

Clonazepam: Your dose is low but would still wait  about 40 hours before ingesting alcohol.

No: Some potentially dangerous effects of mixing Tramadol with alcohol include:
dizziness.
drowsiness.
impaired coordination.
loss of consciousness.
nausea.
overdose.
shallow breathing.
slowed heart rate.
Vomiting

Please do not combine alcohol with transform, it is not safe

i had one glass of wine about an hour ago, is it safe for me to take a benedryl?

Likely safe: But Benadryl (diphenhydramine)  will add to the drowsiness effect to any alcohol you might have consumed. So I would caution against operating anything which requires alertness (driving etc) after this combination.

i have to take daily zyrtec (cetirizine) (10mg). liver-wise, is it safe to have one glass of wine on a day when i take this med?or do i need to avoid any alcohol?

Accepted Answer

No problem: although it may potentially have an additive effect to the drowsiness induced by alcohol . Make sure you don't drive after the combination on the first occasion just to make sure.  If no problem, you may even try 2 glasses of wine and do the same observation but no more.

i am prescribed 0.5mg of klonopin am & pm. would it be ok to take the am dose around 4a/5a and have a glass of wine at night if i skip my night dose?

: Klonopin and alcohol are not a good mix even you do not take them together. However, it is not an absolute contraindication.

i drank a glass of wine lastnight around 11pm. i weigh 145 pounds. if i have a urine test to take for my probation at 3 pm today do you think ill pass?

Likely: If no drugs and only one regular glass of wine,and adequate fluids hydration alcohol  unlikely to be measurable level.
Not an ideal choice of planning, however!
Better to count on abstinence than good luck!

Hours: Generally you don't want to drink within 2-4 hours of sleep because this contributes to nighttime waking.  If you wake trazadone specifically for sleep, this should be safe.  Less is always better so if you can go without the combination of alcohol and medications, that may be helpful.

is it safe to take paracetamol with a glass of wine.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Main problems are too much paracetamol (more than 4g or 8 tablets) or too much alcohol that will cause a dangerous combination.  If these things are carefully attended to the odd glass of wine with paracetamol should be safe
