Unknown ovulation: Since ovulation after coming off of birth control pills can be somewhat unpredictable, having unprotected  intercourse can result in pregnancy. The earliest a pregnancy test after conception would turn positive is a week after the unprotected intercourse.

i just started using nur-isterate as a contraceptive. i've only had one shot so far and i forgot to go to the doctor for my next shot. i am two days late for my shot, what should i do to ensure i do not fall pregnant?

Forward &amp; back up: You need to move forward immediately and receive the 'missed" shot and use a "back up" means of contraception now if you are sexually engaged.

Yes: No day is 100% 'safe' day in one's cycle but definitely that is one of the safer ones.  Take a pregnancy test in 2-3 weeks.

Pregnancy test: Depo is a hormone that protects you from pregnancy but has to be given once every three months to be effective. Take a pregnancy test. You have not taken depo for one year so it will not protect you from getting pregnant now.

: Depo is a progesterone  which acts like the natural hormones in your body. Once stopped the levels drop and your body's natural hormones work to reset themselves. Depending on the person, it can take 1-3 months for the normal hormones to produce ovulation and a normal cycle.

Yes: if you had sex without contraception, pregnancy symptoms and a positive pregnancy test, you certainly can be pregnant.  Let's assume that you are.  The best thing for you to do is to see a provider who can determine for sure how far along you are and get you started on good prenatal care.

3 weeks after sex: A urine pregnancy test done correctly will give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex. If a coil just came out yesterday, a woman's body may not be able to get pregnant yet... But it is best to use contraception from the time of coil removal, if still trying to avoid pregnancy.

Can take 12-18mos: While Depo-Provera provides reversible contraception, it can take 12 - 18 months to regain your fertility after stopping it.  Start prenatal vitamin and be patient.  See your clinician if unable to conceive after 18+ most of trying.  Take Care!

Probably...: Some of the causes of repeated miscarriages are known and can be found with blood tests.  Other times, the cause is never known.    If you want get pregnant, you should see an Ob/Gyn for testing and advice on what to do.  Best wishes!

: Because the depoprovera shot is given specifically every 12 weeks, it is typically effective for at least 12 weeks since the shot. From a June 2, 2023 shot, the next shot would be August 25, 2023. More than likely, pregnancy would not be possible yet since it is just 2 days past the expected date of a shot. However, if the plan is not to get pregnant, best not to take your chances.
