Who knows?: Why would anyone have ever scientifically  studied such a combination? Do so, as with all otc supplements, at your own risk. The only one that has been scientifically studied and has actual medical benefits without significant risks is the vitamin d. Calcium can't hurt.  The rest are a waste of money and possibly health. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or internet scams.

is melatonin safe to give to young children to help fall asleep? as well as other calming herbs like those found in teas?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Melatonin is safe and has been studied in children, with almost no side effects until the dose is over 8mg. If your child suffers from sleep disturbances such as insomnia start with 2.5mg, 30 to 60 minutes before bedtime. You can increase dose in 2.5mg increments up to 7.5 mg if it is not working. Melatonin is not fda regulated so product quality can vary.
Teas are fine too.

Accepted Answer

Gingseng: Many say that Gingseng can be used any time of day. It is sometimes recommended 3 times a day between meals.  40 minutes before meals has been recommended if one is trying to address Diabetes.

Gingseng:  My understanding is that Gingseng is best in divided amounts during the day between meals.

Accepted Answer

Arizona tea: What do you want the tea to work for?  Most of the prepared teas have a lot of sugar and additives in them.  If you want the benefits of green tea it's best to brew your own.

Lemon and ginseng: Should not affect conception.

: Unless you want o do prep again I would follow "exactly" what is on list.  Most do not want to do it again in my experience.

i drank a little bit of a green tea ginkgo/ginseng blend (maybe an eighth of a cup or less) before realizing that ginkgo was an anticoagulant. how long do i have to wait before i take other medicines or supplements that affect clotting? i'm 177 lbs?

: It is not a big deal with that small amount for one time. It is only important when you take it on a daily basis.

It's a nice review of current knowledge (w/journal references) of which a few small studies suggest possible benefit in erectile dysfunction (about 1/3 down page). Quality ; quantity will affect individual benefit, if any. Your mileage may vary. Be sure to chat w/your family doc.

: Those ingredients in the list are commonly seen in the OTC supplements but it is impossible to give you an appropriate advice because we have no reliable tool for checking the possible interactions between fluoxetine and OTC supplements so I would against its use. Take care.
