NO: Antifungal creams are recommended for external use only.  If you have a fungal rash near anus, it is ok to use there.  Just not inside the rectum.

Cut back on : Any caffeine and especially beer, and keep the area dry with cornstarch powder. Avoid the greasy ointments. If fungus is suspected use anti fungal powder such aas Mycostatin (nystatin) rather than the creams.

Dermatitis: Perianal dermatitis can be caused by moisture and/or friction. Try avoiding very tight clothing,keep the area clean and dry and apply a cortisone type ointment. Also avoid over exuberant wiping after a bowel movement and finish cleansing with warm water applications and then pat the area dry. If no improvement consult a proctologist or dermatologist.

i had protected anal sex (receiving) on december 4. shortly after, i developed a yeast infection on my anus as diagnosed by planned parenthood. treated with antifungal cream and went away. for a week now, i've had pain in my urethra. neg. uti. ?

Separate problems: You cannot get a urethral/penile STD from receptive anal sex. But if the sexual contact, or another recent contat, include urethral/penile exposure, perhaps that's the explanation. Any discharge? Painful urination? Penile blisters, sores, etc? Return to the clinic for additional evaluation. Good luck!

Irritation; yes: Itching and irritation are the main symptoms, often with redness and maybe superficial fissures, if you can view the area with a mirror. Any skin or vaginal antifungal cream will be safe.

i have dermatitis on and around anus, doc subscribed kenalog cream. used for 7 days. when would it be safe to use again in case of flare up?
