can you give me advice with headache, when i closed my eyes i felt that my eyeballs were involuntary rolling around. what could this be?

Headaches: Headaches can cause different symptoms in different people:ie, feeling your eyes rolling around. Be sure to see your MD to get a neurologic exam if headaches are new, wake you from sleep or only on 1 side. See Eyedoc2020@blogspot.com "Headache Diet" for possible solutions to help.

ive been under severe chronic stress from trauma. dr. said i have gad. couple days after taking one antidepressant, had an involuntary eye roll, tongue protrusion, involuntary grimacing, raising eyebrows, one time. could this be tardive dyskinesia?

Accepted Answer

: .You don't mention what the medication was. Tardive dyskinesia takes at least a few months to develop as a side effect. Your symptoms seemed characteristic of it but I don't think they were caused by 2 days of that medication. Nevertheless notify your prescribing physician of those symptoms and get advice and instructions.

my boyfriend has a fluid like bump the size of a golf ball on the back of his scalp behind skin, has had head injuries now eyes roll involuntary. why?

See Dr: There is not likely a connection between the two, but neither of these are normal and should not be ignored! see your dr, or can start with urgent care visit for history / exam and plan on how to address these.

involuntary muscle locking for long iime & intense pain, itense tremors whole body. eyes roll back in head & cross when eyes close, feels like straining/ stumbling over words, constantly pausing mid sentence. extremely forgetful. is it a seizure?

i can shake my eyes back and forth at a rapid pace, not like nystagmus, but sometimes it's involuntary. is this normal?

Yes: Up to 8% of college age students (about 1 out of 10) were able to produce "voluntary nystagmus" in one study, and most of them had a relative who could do the same thing.  It usually doesn't indicate any other eye problem.  If it happens involuntarily, you should see your eye md for an exam.

frequently i get a single involuntary jerk in my lower back when laying down,  causing me to see white n black geometric like patterns when my eyes are shut, no pain n not the same as hypnic jerk which i have also experienced. what could cause this?

Nothing serious: Jerking of various muscles when falling asleep is common and harmless. The cause is not clear.

Pupils bigger: Your pupils can become bigger from certain drugs such as atropine, opiates (narcotics), from fear and intense emotion.  Also when you are in dim light.

i heard that nystagmus is involuntary. but i can shake my eyes! is it a neurological condition?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Nystagmus is a complicated condition with many causes ranging from congenital to acquired and is involuntary.  We do, however, have the normal ability to generate voluntary forced movements of our own eyes, called saccades, and can mimic nystagmus, however, the velocities and implicit times in generating voluntary saccades are much less than those of involuntary pursuit movements and nystagmus.

eyes goes back involuntary headaches etc due to pseudo tumor. after lp symptoms returned but more prominent and worse could there be more to it?

Pseudotumor: diagnosis is made after multiple tests, including an MRI so I do not think there is anything else, you might need medication (Diamox)
