Possible c. diff: Taking antibiotics can cause  another infectious condition called c. difficile.  This can be life threatening as it causes dehydration and bloody diarrhea.   Please make an appt with your physician to discuss this.

im on azithromycin to prevent pneumonia from covid. the gas has been horrible about 5 hours after taking the pill. my stomach hurts all night & the gas is unbearable. i have taken with food. i have 2 days left. i have to stop taking it. is that okay?

: Yes, you can stop it. 
Studies have not shown any benefit of using Azithromycin in this case.

Azithromycin: Azithromycin can cause nausea and gas. Be sure you are eating frequently and taking small mouthfuls so that you do not swallow air

Azithromycin: No worries at all. Azithromycin (Zithromax) often causes temporary cramping, diarrhea, etc. It won't last long, and does not interfere with its effectiveness against chlamydia. However, you need to know that azithromycin fails to cure about 5% of chlamydia in women, even more if the rectum happens to be infected. Get retested in a few weeks (but no sooner than 3 weeks after treatment).

Gas pain: It will cause pain no matter where it is if blows the are up enough.

May be diet related: You did not mention whether you're passing stool or not, or if you're constipated with gas. It sounds like the latter. However if you're producing that much gas, and are bloated, then you have to look at food allergies to possibly gluten, gliadase, corn, soy, dairy, or something else you're eating that might be causing this. Call your doctor for an easy remedy. There are otc products that help wiith gas, and also for passing stool. You may want to ask your pharmacist until you can see your doctor.

If digestive enzymes are faulty a doctor and studies are needed to study this type of problem.
