got a pea size lump between hip and intestines   seems to get a bit bigger when i bend back. black, blue, and yellow above where  lump is. what is it?

i have a headache that happens when i bend over, am sitting at a certain angle or if i'm trying to have a bowel movement. i had a pre-eclamptic pregnancy 6 months ago and i am terrified it is a clot or aneurysm.

Pre-eclampsia: A possible aneurysm can of course cause a headache when straining with a bowel movement, but it has nothing to do with having had a pre-eclamptic pregnancy.  A blood clot in a cerebral vessel will not generally cause a headache, and is also not related causally to your pre-eclamptic pregnancy.  You need to see a neurologist and get an MRI to find the cause of this type of headache.

Difficult: You are certainly at risk of malabsorption and a condition called short bowel syndrome. Sometimes you may need supplemental nutrition such as tpn.

can you tell me how i can stop noisey intestines/bowels?

Accepted Answer

: The noise requires gas to be present, therefore eating less carbohydrates can decrease the amount of gas and making your stool bulkier can help as well. You could try some Metamucil as well. You may notice it is related to certain foods too, then avoid these foods.

Rectal Prolapse: You may have a rectal prolapse.  You don't need tape, you need to see your primary care physician for an evaluation.

Obstruction?: This is a peculiar description? Did you have intestinal obstruction? If so, there's really nothing to prevent it from happening again, but you should ask your doctor whether surgery might be possible to prevent recurrence. If you've not been in the care of an abdominal surgeon, ask your doctor for referral.

i was wondering what are the odds of someone being able to live a long healthy life with only 5 inches of small/lower intestine?

The odds: Of intestinal adaptation, not being reliant on IV nutrition, increase if one has more than 15 cm of small intestine with a remaining ileocecal valve.

is it unhealthy & how? if i stopped eating & instead start living off of nutrition from iv or something so that i no longer have to use my intestines?

Suit yourself: First, visit a hospital and see the patients on hyperalimentation / total parenteral nutrition, which is what you are proposing to do.  Ask how good it feels, how much it costs, whether they miss sinking their teeth into a burger, and what it's like to get an infection. I do appreciate your asking though.
