I'm not sure: I don't know of any real studies that compare the two methods.  Some types of apparatus used in pilates machine classes definitely offer resistance training, as well as stretching and flexibility. It would also depend on how high a resistance or how heavy a weight  is used, as well as the number of times (repetitions) the exercise is repeated. Strength training is probably best to build muscle.

Unlikely: Coronavirus can last on a plastic surface for up to 3 days. If you posted the card (and don't have Coronavirus) it is not likely that it would be transmitted onto the card from the machine.

Airway obstruction: Obstructive sleep apnea is caused by upper airway obstruction, from tonsils or other soft tissues in the back of the throat closing off the airway.  CPAP keeps the pressure up in your upper airways, thus not allowing those tissues to collapse, similar to a partially inflated balloon.  This allows you to breathe normally when you sleep.

Limited: As a surgeon, i don't use tens units for TMJ treatment. Those with the greatest experience would be dentists who specialize in management of TMJ problems.

Safe: The tens is adjusted by a hand held controller which usually contains the batteries.  You may need a little trial and error.  Our office uses the national company emsi which has sales reps that will personally instruct the patient.

Pain or muscles: Tens is for blocking pain,   ems is for stimulating muscles.   Tens applied at high frequency (>50 hz) with an intensity below motor contraction   or low frequency (<10 hz) with an intensity that produces motor contraction.   Benefit of tens for pain is controversial.
