Spots come up in waves, the average kid having 200-250. Insect bites mound up often with a central point. They rarely  ever blister.

Good skin care: The best way to minimize scarring of any type, whether a injury, bite, scratch - is good skin care. Keep clean, use moisturizers several times a day liberally, and use sunscreen, as sun and uv radiation exposure can make the marks look darker. Don't use tanning beds, and be careful if you are shaving the area not to use razors or methods that are irritating ot the skin.
