No wt loss w/B12: I can't speak for veterinary medicine as I am not a veterinarian. However, as a family physician, i can assure you that i don't give B12 injections to cause weight loss in humans as there is no such link between the two. In other words, taking B12 whether as a shot or pill will not lead to weight loss. If you're low in b12, you may need B12 pills or shots, but that won't cause weight loss.

Bodybuilding: How about putting in the work and staying natural and dedicated. Don't cheat yourself with short cuts. Muscle hypertrophy takes weeks to months to establish. Body builders are hypertrophy ing mainly type 1 endurance fibers. This means you need medium weight, lots of reps and sets with progressively decreased rest. Do it right or suffer more injures.

Weights: Scott, the only way to gain size in one spot is to build the muscle in that area. Try some gluteal presses, squats, and lunges. They should help. Hope this helps!

Weight gain is: reported by many women who take Depo shot for contraception, but not all.   I don't think the mechanism is clear, but all weight gain is caused by an imbalance in calories eaten vs calories used by the body. Part of the weight gain is also probably related to some degree of water retention.

Birth control ?'s: Using a progesterone implant, or the "depo" version of progesterone injection will not make one gain weight.  Weight gain is strictly an imbalance of calories ingested vs. calories used.  Try reduction of carbohydrates (bread, rice, sweets, etc.) .
