Stop: Hcg injections can cause water retention however if there is significant painful swelling a followup with prescribing provider is necessary to be further evaluated and the hcg injections should be discontinued

Local reaction: Check to see if it's the same manufacturer.  Could be a local reaction to preservative.  Other possibilities are infection due to the injection.  If the redness spreads and the pain worsens, she should see her physician to have it appropriately diagnosed.

Reported but rare: I've given B12 shots to hundreds of patients and have never seen this happen so I was going to say no, but in researching this some sites list "feeling of swelling of the entire body" and "swelling of the ankles or feet" as possible side effects. This is very rare.

Relatively Common: I am surmising you received Noocaine from your dentist.  Having an injection anywhere can rupture blood vessels  from the injection.  Sorry!  Use Ice packs for 15-20min 2-3x Daily over the affected area for a few more days will help.  If you have further concerns, you should seek the help of a healthcare professional.

Need more info: Venofer--I think you are referring to intravenous iron--should not cause swelling.  You should be in touch with the doctor who gave you the medication for a check-up.

i got the flu shot 3 days ago. had a fever the day after the shot and developed underarm swelling with pain along the inside of the arm. no swelling or pain on the injection site. the swelling is still there. is this normal? how long does it last?

: Depends on what is causing it. I tell my patients most will be gone as fast as 2 weeks but others may take as long as 14 days. Discuss with your injector as they will know what their data is locally.

Sympathectomy: If the swelling is presumably due to the dysfunction of the sympathetic nervous system, which is the underlying cause of CRPS, then a Sympathectomy would be the treatment of choice for it.
