See doc: If the warm red area took a week to show up it may be that she has an infection at the shot site.  Call or see the doc today or tomorrow.  If she has fever over 100, increasing redness or pain, or is acting sick go to the ER if you can'[t reach your doc..

i had a baby 6 days ago, since my epidural  i have developed a rash at the injection site, abd now is on my neck. is this normal. no allergies to tape?

Not normal: could be meds, tape or iodine or other cleansing solution. try benadryl (diphenhydramine). if not improved, see your doctor

after getting a flu shot, the injection site swelled & was hot. it itched mildly. now, 2 days after shot, i have a rash under my arms. is this related?

May be: The interval between your flu vaccine and the rash may suggest that the rash is due to the vaccine. However, it may be a coincidence. If it does not bother you, i would wait. If it itches, would take an antihistamine such as cetirizine, Loratadine or fexofenadine (all available otc). If no better if a few days, see your physician.

Triceps: Usually posterior 1/3 of upper arms. Well tolerated and minimal irritation from movement / impact / etc.

how can you treat pain at an intramuscular injection site?

Ice 15 minutes /day: Keep site clean and dry, and apply ice as above,  pain med with anti-inflammatory activity (ibuprofen, naproxen) should take care of it. The complications of an im injections are worrisome, so may need checking with the doc.  Is an abscess forming; is a cellulitis (infection in surrounding skin tissue)'starting.   As with any other problem, c doc if persisted, become red and hot and painful.

Normal: If there is a lot of swelling, redness spreading from the site, or pus draining, see your doctor asap.

Yes: Soreness at the injection site is due to local trauma from the injection.

Odd: Sounds more like either a local reaction to the med or an infection from the technique. Would use warm compresses to area (or heating pad on low) and have it checked by your fertility-doctor.

Have it checked: Could be an infection locally, or a fluid collection (the medicine carrier was not properly absorbed), or possibly a local reaction. All should be evaluated by a dr.
