The acute syndrome is no different in males or females ; may present as a mononucleosis like illness.  Fever (38-40c), fatigue, ; myalgias;  sore throat w/ or w/o swollen tonsils; generalized red body rash; non-tender swelling of lymph nodes in armpits ; front /back of the neck.  It takes an alert physician to diagnose!

Possible: Hiv can remain without symptoms for lengthy time periods (although 10 yrs is at the end of the spectrum for most persons).  If you think there is any chance you have been exposed to HIV the best thing to do is get tested.  If, on the unlikely chance you are positive, the earlier the diagnosis is established the better the outcome with therapy.  Good luck.

: The tests for syphilis and HIV are much more accurate than symptoms. Neither infection intereres with tests for the other:  for sure your tests are reliable and you do not have either syphilis or HIV. Whatever symptoms you have, neither syphilis nor HIV is the cause. Keep working with your doctor to figure it out, but you can stop worrying about these infections. Good luck.

: HIV can be positive for years without symptoms. There are some rare people (which I have personally seen twice) with HIV who never have a lowered T cell count so it would not show up on regular lab tests. Get an HIV test

Yes: Gonorrhea and chlamydia if progressing to pelvic inflammatory disease could mimic symptoms.  Get checked out.

Should be ok: Hiv is contracted through body fluids, so if you used a condom, it would be unlikely to contract HIV from sexual contact with protection.  You can always be tested for std's including an HIV test by your physician on a periodic basis to be definative.

: The 4th generation tests always turn positive within 6 weeks. Any and all tests after that time were unnecessary and a waste of money, time and energy, but they proved you do not have HIV. You've had 27 tests in 10 months?? Really??? that may be a world record. If so, it suggests a rather serious psychological issue. Discuss with your physician, who may recommend mental health care. Post exposure Rx:  If you have HIV exposure, post exposure prophylaxis should begin with and 72 hours. You can discuss with your physician. You could ask her if she is,. Post exposure prophylaxis means taking HIV medications as soon as possible after exposure to repent becoming infected with HIV usually start it within 72 hours or three days after a possible exposure

what are the symptoms of hsv in female? only have intense itching in vulva region and abit of itching on perineum. tested negative for all stds and hiv. yet to test for hsv?

: During herpes outbreaks, the lesions may itch. But herpes does not cause itching as the only symptom and is not the explanation for what you are feeling. Also, herpes symptoms always are intermittent and never last more than 10-14 days, and outbreaks occur no more often than once a month. HSV never causes continuous symptoms. Beware of HSV blood tests:  they often are very unreliable.
