It targets the inflammation in the airways which can actually eventually damage the tissue. Treatment with inhaled steroids helps patients maintain their lung function.But they do not provide immediate relief of symptoms.

No: None  to  my  knowledge  ,  but  to  breath  you  need  inhaler  and  as  far  steroids  are  concerns   why  not  go  for  singulair (montelukast)  ?

does inhaling the odor of cat litter, especially while cleaning the litterbox have any adverse effects on health over time? since toxoplasmosis gondii can be present in cat feces what would happen if you inhale the odor of feces everyday?

: The odor won't affect your health and you won't inhale this parasite's oocysts in feces but you may contract toxoplasmosis with contaminated hands so use gloves or wash your hands well after handling the litter box. Most people infected with the parasite do not have symptoms and we only concern about children, pregnant women or people with impaired immune system.

5 yr old takes deep breaths, chest oppression. doc said no asthma, gave zyrtec. should i get 2nd opinion? can i give inhaled steroid? albuterol?

Chest oppression ???: Your description of the issue is too vague to provide a clear picture of what is going on. A second opinion is certainly something you can pursue. I would NEVER give a kid either of the listed drugs without the advise &amp; supervision of a treating physician.Any drug strong enough to help is strong enough to do harm.

i'm supposed to be off pred/steroids before my alif surgery, what about advair which is an inhaled steroid & flonase, steroid nose spray? thoughts?

Adrenal suppression: Being on steroids (inhaled, IV or oral) 3 months, can suppress your adrenal glands, leaving them unable to respond adequately to surgical stress. Your concern is important and having a pre-operative visit with your regular doc/rheumatologist to discuss this issue will be important. Okay to discuss with your surgeon as well. You may benefit from stress steroids around your surgery.
