bumps on the scrotum appeared a couple of weeks ago after having intercourse with a female. they are painless and have a hair in the middle of them. i did shave that area using clippers. could this be ingrown hair or a herpes outbreak ?

Sounds more: like ingrown hairs.  But difficult to say without examination.  You need to show it to your doctor or urology specialist to make sure.

i had an ingrown hair on my pubic area.. last night it popped and the next morning it's still bleeding. the size went down. what do i do next?

Clean and monitor: Clean the area with soap and water, rinse and dry.  Apply polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) to the immediate area - cover with a bandage.  Monitor to make sure the redness and swelling does not expand.  Some minor bleeding / oozing may continue for a couple days.  If redness  worsens, if you have new fever or if there is significant or worsening bleeding see a doctor to ensure you don't have a skin infection.

i have ingrown hair in my pubic area so i let them grow out, now their is few bumps but a lot of the hair are paired together to grow, should i rip them?

Ingrown hair: If the hair has grown out, it will not pierce through the follicular wall or the curly end will not stick back into the skin to cause a folliculitis. Let the hairs grow out and don't cut them or pluck them. If you do, they will stick in the side of the skin and cause inflammation, pimples, and cysts. If some are sticking back into the skin try to pull the end free.

what to do if i've been getting really bad rash and ingrown hair in my pubic area?

Medical assessment: If you have ingrown hairs try not to wax, shave or pluck hairs until healed.  This can often heal without treatment. Your physician can prescribe medication to clear dead skin cells  (retinoids). Steroids may be used for significant inflammation &amp; antibiotics may be considered if the area has become infected.

i have a small hard cyst like bump about the size of a pea with no head on it like an ingrown hair, on my pubic area that is painful to the touch ?

Get it checked: This may be an infection.  You should get it checked by your doctor to see if you need antibiotics. In the meantime you can apply warm compresses over it to see ifit will point to the surface and drain.  No gaurantees.

hi, i woke up wednesday day morning [30 december] with which looked like an ingrown hair by my pubic area on the bikini line. by yesterday morning i was in excruciating pain and it's just getting worse by the minute. please advice?

See your DR.: An ingrown hair can lead to a skin infection and abscess. Incision and drainage of the site may be needed to treat the infection, along with antibiotics. See your Dr for a complete evaluation and treatment.

Many boils: When there are many boils in different areas of the body, the concern is that this may be a bacterial infection, such as a staph infection.  Please see your dermatologist as you may need treatment with antibiotics.

Folliculitis: Would see a doctor- for any need for antibiotic. Do not know about fusidic acid helping this. Can apply triple antibiotic ointment and warm compress while maintaining hygiene.

ingrown hair in pubic area has turned purple/dark colored. i wash it daily with soap and use hydrocortisone. does this sound normal? it won't go away!

Accepted Answer

Need more help: You are doing good things to help the ingrown hair situation but you need additional support so that you don't get infected.  Your doc can remove the hairs and keep you from infection.  Peace and good health.
