Chronic inflammation: Chronic inflammation is not normal.  Do you smoke, dip, or chew tobacco?     Discuss with the doctor who took the biopsy.

This is serious: I trust the dye test was a pulmonary angiogram that demonstrated a pulmonary thromboembolus, and it has also been determined that you have hypercoagulable blood. This is a major problem that will require work with your primary care physician and probably long-term medical management -- more than healthtap can do. Hope you do not smoke. The "inflammation" & liver labs need to be addressed in time.

Not dangerous: Hospital staff should be careful about sterile technique as well as avoiding injecting air bubbles or reinjection of blood clots into an IV line. But small blood clots in the vein will almost certainly not be harmful, so do not worry!

If deep vein - alot of swelling. 
If superificial vein - then sometimes thrombophlebitis.

Broken vein causes bruising or staining.

Sometimes such: A problem is related to a in dwelling vascular catheter. Line removal can help.  If that isn't a good option or he clot is large you will likely be prescribed blood thinners.

Superficial phlebiti: Superficial thrombophlebitis is often times associated with varicose veins.  Activities to strengthen legs can help. A vitamin C and Vitamin E may be worth trying for prevention
