: When did you have the procedure done? If within 5-10 days, the treating physician is best to assess the situation.  My concern is proper follow-up will prevent not just complication, but provide help to you as most direct manner.

i am 2.5 weeks status post novasure.  at f/u np diagnosed infection and started abx.  discharge & cramps unchanged, & now abdominal distension. advise?

Call your doctor: Not normal , you need evaluation immediately, if necessary go to the er but call your doc first, I do thermachoice in office and cannot remember the last time i had a pt get an infection, very uncommon in my practice but it can happen and you must make sure you are on the right meds and nothing else is going on.

i had a hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation 3 weeks ago. the hysteroscopy showed acute endometrisis which i understand is an infection but i havent been given antibiotics, will the ablation deal with the infection? i am still very bloated?

: "itis" is the word ending used to describe irritation whatever the cause. It does not always mean an infection. Being bloated after this procedure is not unusual. I would confer with the treating doc if problems continue.

Can you be more spec: ific? Do you mean if you need to prep for the procedure (ans: no, except maybe take Motrin if not contraindicated), or if you still have bleeding after (ans: if small amount, not unexpected; if large amount, may need other treatment), or if you have pain (ans: see your doctor), or otherwise?

This is not uncommon: It is not uncommon to have some bleeding after an endometrial ablation.  In some cases regular periods may return after several months or years.  It is more common to have light bleeding.  Cramping after sex may release retained blood from your uterus.  You should discuss this with your doctor at a future visit.

Normal: Discharge following in the metria liberation is going to be normal even for two weeks. If you're concerned there might be the possibility of infection, and definitely see your doctor. But it would be normal to have dark brown discharge for a couple of weeks

Exam: You need to be evaluated for infection and possible uterine source of bleeding. An ultrasound and endometrial biopsy would be helpful.

No: It is not uncommon to have bleeding after NovaSure, even several years.  Some patients will even have a return of normal cycles.  If the bleeding is heavy or prolonged, see your gyn.

i'm having myosure and novasure on 10th december, both procedures same day. how long should i take off work?

Accepted Answer

A few days: The myosure procedure is done to remove fibroids.  The Novasure is done for endometrial ablation.  These procedures are done to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding,  after either procedure you may have some cramping and pain.  This may last 1-2 days. Medications can help decease these symptoms.  Because you are having both procedures done you may have slightly more cramping.

what are the odds of  endometrium regenerating after the novasure procedure? i haven't had a cycle in 13 months.

Accepted Answer

Little chance: There is little chance of the endometrium regenerating. If you start to develop bleeding, it is more likely there may be a polyp developing in an island of endometrium that may be there already.
