Teething?: No teething should not cause a fever, especially a high fever. Concerned that there may be an infection. Best to have your child examined by Pediatrician.

Roseola?: Without actually seeing the rash and examining the baby, it is very difficult to say for sure what the rash is. However, in a baby less than 2, if they've had fever for a couple of days and then when the fever breaks develop fine red rash, sounds like roseola (also known as 'baby measles'). If it doesn't fade n next few days, or there are other associated symptoms, then need to see your peds doc.

Get checked: A low-grade fever (99-100) without other symptoms is no big deal and can be ignored, but if you're really getting fevers as high as 103, this is pretty unusual and really should get checked out by a doctor soon (this week). Could be some sort of unusual infection, blood disorder, medication reaction or other underlying problem.

Q: lady in waiting room coughing. said she had high fever for 5 days. no fever past 2 days. i took my baby outside asap. was she contagious still?

Upper airway: You may have an allergic reaction, a common cold or local irritation of your nasal passages and throat. Stay at home, rest, drink fluids and monitor your temperature. 
Drink soothing fluids, use nasal saline rinses and try one dose of an antihistamine to gauge improvement. IF you develop dry cough, fever and/or shortness of breath, contact your PCP.

See a doctor: Fever usually means that the body is raising the temperature to stop viral or bacterial attacks. An infant retains the mother's antibodies for about 3 months. The infant's immature immune system takes over so the baby becomes more vulnerable . If the baby's temperature is very high or very low, it may be very serious
go to emergency dept, hydrate, tepid not cold water for cooling, take a temperature.

The sinuses, or air : Spaces, are not well-developed enough in an infant for a diagnosis of sinusitis. If there is no middle ear infection, pneumonia  or meningitis to define the organs involved in a viral or bacterial infection, the doctor will look for a urinary tract infection or sepsis (more generalized infection)  if the baby is acting ill or < 3 mos. Old, he may be hospitalized to insure his safety.
