Both: Loratadine (brand name claritin) is fda approved for seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and hives.  However, it is also effective for treating allergies caused by indoor allergens such as animal dander and dust.

Try the following: You can apply vaseline on a qtip to the inside of the nose a couple of time a day. If that does not work, try ponaris (its available online if you can't find over the counter) it is pretty potent and works well when other ointments dont work. The best way to apply it is also with a qtip.

You mean allergies?: Nasocorticosteroid sprays/antihistamine nasal sprays can be an alternative or addition to oral antihistamines.  Prescription sprays include: flonase, nasonex, (mometasone) Veramyst and many others for the corticosteroid sprays.  Astelin, patanase for the antihistamine sprays. Both need prescriptions. You can also do well with nondrowsy claritin/allegra or mildly sedating zyrtec otc.

Yes: However one needs to rule out other potential causes for your ear and nose problems as well.  With better understanding on gene evolution , it is now clear that allergy can develop at any age and dust mite allergy is likely the most common and potent allergen. You may try an OTC nasal cortisone which works far better than Zyrtec. If problem persists, see an allergist.

Any antihistamine: All antihistamines such as benedryl, allegra, zyrtec and Claritin (loratadine) are histamine blockers.  They block histamine at the histamine receptor.  This is independent of the cause of the release of histamine.  So, all antihistamines are useful in the treatment of indoor or dust allergies.

i'm extremely tired. i was recently diagnosed with severe indoor and outdoor allergies. i started immunotherapy a couple weeks ago. is it the shots/me?

Could be: initially your body is being exposed to allergens you are allergic too--so you could be tired--if it continues talk to your allergist

NO!: While there is no evidence that atopic derm is really helped with allergy shots, it is an allergy driven process and I would push through the shots.  My guess is that you are recently started on shots, and need a good skin regimen for your eczema.  You could also consider UV therapy for it.
