Some people say...: Some people say the average size of a testicle is 2x3x5 cm.  Not sure who was measured (what age, what ethnicity, etc...) nor who did the measuring.  Average may mean that half the guys have somewhat bigger testicles than that, and the other half have somewhat smaller testicles than that.   Doesn't really matter unless a testicle is truly much bigger or much smaller than usual.

Here are some ...: What you see in your son's scrotum (probably not testicles) may represent a possible communicating hydrocele, which fluctuates in its size (fullness) - more in the afternoon or evening and worse in the morning. But without a look at &amp; palpation on it, it's hard to come up an accurate Dx. So, bring him to see urologist for analyzing Hx, physical findings, and possible tests so to confirm what it's.

Get examined: This needs to assessed by a physician  with haste. The actual testicle itself should not increase in size at your age. The scrotum may increase in size for less ominous reasons, but true testicular size increase can be associated with infection or cancer. Please a physician regarding this as soon as possible.
