Should get checked: Given the time period, assuming it hasn't been a problem before it is unlikely the surgery has anything to do with the discoloration/bruising now. You should get it checked out with a physician (doesn't have to be OBGyn) to look for causes of random/easy bruising

Unsure: Depending on how your surgery was done, you could expect to have some pain for up to 4 or 6 months.  The only way to get a really good idea of the cause for your pain would be to have a exam. You could call the surgeon who did your surgery.

Seek medical attenti: May be an abscess from surgical site. Would seek additional medical evaluation.

Contact surgeon: I would contact your surgeon and make arrangements for follow up. If the incision is opened up a lot then it may need to be packed with gauze for dressing changes.

how can i tell if my hysterectomy incision is infected?

Infection: If the incision is red (especially redness extending out from the incision) swollen, or draining i would suspect infection. Of course elevated temperature and increasing pain are also worrisome signs.

i had a hysterectomy on september 19. after 6 weeks my incision is bleeding slightly but there is no gaps anywhere.  what can be the problem?

Scar/friction bleedi: Although the surgical wound should be healed by now the area remains tender and prone to bleeding if there is any rubbing or friction against the incision. If there is no gaping wound, then it will heal itself. just keep it clean and place a band-aid or a small amount of antibiotic cream in the raw area.
If bleeding continues go back to the surgeon who operated on you.

Time: In time incisions do fade and looks ok. If the bulge is large, cosmetic surgery will be needed.

Seroma: A seroma is a sterile collection of fluid that fills in a wound. Sometimes they resolve on their own other times they have to be drained. Sometimes a surgeon will leave a drain in place after surgery to try and prevent them. They may not be "normal" but are quite common after surgical procedures.

i know the incision site has healed. but how long does it take for muscles to heal after a hysterectomy cause i still feel pain every so often.

Never the same again: Often a significant wound takes about 4-6 wks to heal, but it will never be the same. Once cut/injured, you will have a scar at the site and this remains and may bother you on/off for life. Some get adhesions and this can cause pain intermittently. Once healed, gentle stretching of the scar area to maintain its elasticity can help with contracture and thus reduce pain. Consult doc. Good luck.
