It blocks both.: Copper t iuds both prevent conception and implantation should conception occur. They are an excellent method for long-term reversible contraception that is cost-effective and grossly underutilized in the United States. Talk to your gynecologist to determine if that is a good option for you (best for stable, mutually monogamous relationships).

2 wks post-ov: If the imantation bleeding was what you think, it often isn't, then you might get a positive preg test about one week later.

Yes: The enlarged lymph-node may be related to inflammation or infection in the uterus after IUD removal.  Infection is a more likely possiblity if  removal of the IUD involved putting instruments in the uterus.    You should probably have it checked out.  Best wishes!

Bleeding: Ovulation occurs about 14 days from the first day of your period. The actual timing is dependent upon cycle length. With 21 day cycles ovulation is on day 7; with 28 day cycles ovulation is on day 14; with 35 day cycles ovulation is on day 21. Implantation bleeding occurs 5 - 7 days after conception at about day 19 -22, assuming ovulation and conception was at day 14or 15. So, no.

i am a 39-year-old white woman had iud removed 6 months ago. cycle began 10.12 and had unprotected sex on 10.24. i am scheduled for iud placement tomorrow and wonder how likely is pregnancy. has implantation occurred to have the hcg hormone to test?

No nickel, may itch: Mirena (levonorgestrel) does not contain nickel, it does contain silicone. Less than 5% of patients implanted with Mirena (levonorgestrel) complained about skin issues, your symptoms may e related to  your mirena, (levonorgestrel) but it seems unlikely.

Boils: boils and IUD are not related.  Use warm compress to boil and it may need an antibiotic.  If you shave your armpits then change your razor weekly.

copper iud is causing sharp pain in my groin and, light pink discharge, also pain in my thigh and numbness in arm (all left side) is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Not normal: If the Copper IUD is properly placed, you would not be able to feel its' presence at all. You would be able to vaginally locate the IUD string. If you are unable to find the string and with the noted pain, see the MD who installed the IUD ASAP.
