Hot flashes: Hot flashes can exist for a number of reasons. A true hot flash usually is very specific and results from a loss of hormones. However, women who have fluctuations of hormones like exists in pregnancy can have similar symptoms.

Drop in estrogen: level in the blood which is  a female hormone can cause hot flashes.  This can be checked by your doctor.If you are taking medications or eating spicy foods those can also cause hot flashes. I hope this helps.

TIme: Most resolve over time. Hrt will postpone them. Low dose Clonidine can suppress them in many women. Some respond favorably to ssri's. Check w/your doctor.

Sciatica: It depends on what you mean by hot flashes.  If they are shooting pains down the leg or electrical pains this is likely sciatica (a pinched nerve in the back causing pain in the leg).  It usually resolves by itself with mild, but not complete rest, ice to the lower back where the inflammation actually occurs.  If it this is not what you have or it does not quickly improve it more info neeeded.

Hormonal changes: There are rapid hormonal changes ongoing during pregnancy that the body is also rapidly adjusting to accomodate.As a result, the rise( or drop) in estrogen levels will often cause "hot flashes".

Hot flashes.: Hot flashes are common in the peri menopausal age range all the way through the menopausal age range (age 40 through 65!). Make sure you see your doctor for full  evaluation, including for thyroid issues. There are many natural remedies such as evening primrose pill, black cohosh, soy products. There are also prescription medications such as Gabapentin or an "anti-depressant" that are helpful.

Hot flashes: may occur with PMS. PMS sxs can include feeling tearful, irritability, mood swings, anger, depressed mood, change in sex drive  &amp; anxiety.  These may be accompanied by swelling of the breasts (or extremities), weight gain, abdominal bloating, cramps, nausea,  ^ urinary frequency, overeating, headaches (to include migraines), dizziness, fainting &amp; palpitations. Sleep may be disturbed.
