Likely any.: Usually this is asymptomatic, but if you have headaches, epistaxis (nosebleed), blurred vision and a history of hypertension, you should see your doctor urgently, as these indicate severe hypertension.  If there is no history of high blood pressure and you have these symptoms consistently, particularly if you have all of them, see your doctor immediately.

The silent killer: Htn is the leading cause of strokes and end stage renal disease requiring dialysis. It is a leading cause of congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and heart attacks.  The major reduction in the incidence of strokes since 1950 has been attributed to the more widespread use of effective anti-hypertensive drugs. Htn causes no symptoms for about 30 years when end organ damage begins to occur.

Hypertension: With your age that level of hypertension requires evaluation with your doctor. If you have any secondary symptoms - headache, blurry vision then go to the ER for evaluation.

This : This is not borderline, this is high. You should be on medication. Follow up with your doctor to begin treatment and have blood tests and an ekg done if you have not done so already. Untreated hypertension can lead to a heart attack or stroke so make sure you see your doctor right away.

Blood pressure: Hypertension is when the blood pressure exceeds 140/90 mmhg for a significant part of the day. If untreated, these people have an increased incidence of atherosclerotic disease, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure.

High: His blood pressure is on the high side, specifically the diastolic or the lower value. I suspect he has also symptoms and that will be grounds to seek medical attention as his symptoms may not be caused by his blood pressure, but rather his blood pressure being reactive to another condition.

Medication: She needs to take her meds as prescribed.   The blood pressure meds are not typically prescribed to be used intermittently.  These meds are to be taken on a regular basis.

Epsom salts: Take epsom salt - the one you can take orally mix 1 tablespoon with water - add lemon juice if you want to mask the taste keep drinking this every half hour until blood pressure comes down - this has magnesium make you have diarrhea but will relax the blood vessel wall and drop pressure quicker.

Blood pressure: Should check blood pressure at other places to see if it is high there or just "white coat hypertension". Most people's BP is better outside of the office. If the pressure is normal at home then meds may not be needed.

No: When a patient's  BP is always elevated at the docs office but normal otherwise we call that white coat  hypertension. Studies have shown if that's the only time it does that, no big deal. Many of these folks later move on to full time hypertension so it pays to be watchful.
