ItWillTakeSomeTime: Avoid doing whatever caused it until it heals completely (unless you jumped out of a taxi cab going 60 mph on the highway).Avoid any motions that cause pain, if possible. Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or Motrin for pain. If it hurts to lie down to sleep,try adjusting yourself with pillows and use a foam pad under the pelvic area.When you are able to work,talk to your boss about it.You may need frequent rests.

Possiblyi: If the stress fracture involves the physis, then it can cause injury.  A fracture close to, but not in the physis, can also stimulate the bone to grow longer than the other side.

Too soon...: Your body is just beginning to heal the fracture at this time.  Normally the fracture site is stable after 5-6 weeks, but then more bone will be laid down and then remodeled at the fracture site. Be patient, it's going to take a while.

Rest!: Whlle stretching the surrounding musculature can be of benefit in maintaining  flexibility during recovery from a stress fracture the best treatment for the injury is rest. In order to keep your overall fitness consider aerobic activities that are low impact and focus on areas of the body away from the injury.

Motion at fracture: A stress fracture by definition is still an intact bone issue, whereas a normal full fracture entails a bone break in to at least two parts (or more). The full fracture creates a region of potential motion (painful) at the fracture site with instability that will likely require immobilization. stress fractures can certainly be painful, but no motion is sensed at the stress fracture site.

This is normal: All healing requires that your body produces some inflammation to break down and remove the injured tissue and replace the damaged parts with fresh, new parts. How long you take to heal depends on how healthy the injured area is. Give your injury rest, allow it to heal. However, be alert for signs of infection, like redness and excess warmth.

Yes: If the fracture is in the healing process and has not healed through yet then patients may have pain. It should lessen over time as long as it is in the proper anatomical position for healing.
