Usually ischemia: That usually means that the stoma has a reduced blood supply, causing what we term ischemia. It may only involve the lining of the stoma, which usually gets better on its own after the swelling goes down. If its the full thickness of the bowel wall, it may need revisional surgery. Slight: Since Bentyl (dicyclomine) is an antispasmodic, constipation can certainly be a side effect but taken at low doses, this is a rare occurrence.
