Aloe Vera: Although side effects are not common with aloe &amp; it is used to treat some skin conditions, it has the potential to cause skin irritation.  Aloe vera is purported to make scalp skin cells healthier &amp; by that mechanism to "promote" healthy hair growth. I can't say if that is accurate or not. However, that does not  mean that it would cause facial hair to grow.

can at first grow back hair that is rough
on surface. In time, though, it will soften

Shaving rash: Probably folliculitis barbae (shaving rash) more commonly in people who have curly hair.
Apply hair conditioner for a few minutes before shaving.
Use a single blade razor (double blade razors cut the hairs too short, allowing them to grow in.)  and shave in the direction the hair grows, do not pull the skin (or use an electric razor. Apply hydrogen peroxide after shaving.
