i have a question i'm in a program where i am not supposed to consume alcohol i get urine tested once a week for alcohol i recently bought melatonin gummies that say they contain sugar alcohol will that make me test positive for alcohol on my test?

: If you are in a program, I am glad you are taking steps for your heath. In regards to sugar alcohol and ethanol (what you cannot have), they are not one and the same. Don't be confused. Although they share a similar name, sugar alcohol and alcoholic beverages do not have the same chemical structure. Sugar alcohol does not contain ethanol, which is found in alcoholic beverages.  So no problem.

i get jock's itch, facial and neck rashes and itch and dry skin the next day i consume alcohol. what could be the problem? i am 46 years old,on obese side,drink alcohol,say weekly...sugar and cholestrol border line with poor eating, not on medication

Easy to explain: It makes you sweat more and move less while sleeping. I'm glad you're eager to make a change. You're still young and probably vigorous. Head down to the local gym or sports center, let others see that you're working hard on your body, and they'll accept you as a friend and support you in your body transformation. is it possible to consume alcohol when you are prescribed a steroid, ic methylprednisolone for a skin rash? what are the side affects of consuming alcohol while you are on this steroid? what would happen if you do consume alcohol while on this steroid?

Even : Even though there is no "official" interaction between Methylprednisolone (a steroid) and alcohol, we generally recommend avoiding the combo because they can exacerbate each other's side effects.  For example: both steroids and alcohol can cause gastritis and stomach upset, so the two together can make this side effect even more likely and more severe.  Another reason why we generally advise avoiding alcohol with steroids is because some of the illnesses we use steroids to treat (like ulcerative colitis) can be made worse with alcohol consumption.  This may not pertain to you with your rash, though.

If you are still not sure, give your doctor a call.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Alcohol in moderation (one drink per day) has actually been proven to be beneficial in most patients except those with cardiomyopathy ( a disease of the heart muscle). A pacemaker's function is not affected by alcohol intake.

May drink: The two are not known to negatively interact, so you may have a drink.

Moderation : Moderate alcohol consumption the next day as long as you are not pursuing another pregnancy right away. Your body does need some time to recover and you need some time to grieve the loss. Best wishes.

Accepted Answer

Yes in moderation: Alcohol and amoxicillin/clavulanate (Amocian and other brands) do not interfere or interact with one another. Just don't drink so much that you forget to take the drug!
