if an accident victim had a severed left subclavian artery, which pulse (neck or wrist) would be most affected? why?

The wrist.: Blood flow in arteries is away from the heart.  The subclavian artery goes into the arm and is past where the vessels to the neck are located.  If it is cut then flow to the forearm and wrist may be less.

on my recent lexiscan it was found i had sig. ant. apical isch. also had a 100% occluded axillary artery which opened well in surgery. he said all arteries looked clear around heart& upper. does the sig. ant. apical ischemia mean arteries or muscle?

: The anterior apical ischemia means the part of the heart (heart muscle) is lack of blood (ischemia) by lexiscan. If that ischemia is fixed it mean the myocardium (heart muscle) is dead (scarring), if the ischemic area is reversible the corresponding vessel (usually the left anterior descending coronary artery or its branch) has blockage.

why do u feel a much stronger pulse in the left side of your chest? which artery are there? it is not the heart area im taking about...

Where in chest?: Not sure what answer you are looking for here.  The heart is located in the Left chest area, so any artery in that area will have a larger sounding pulse with slightly more intensity simply because of the proximity to the beating heart.  Best wishes.

Arteries: Yes,the pressure or strength of the pulsation in each carotid artery should be the same unless there is a blockage reducing the pressure in the one with a weak pulsation. However this would be unusual in your age bracket. If you have further concerns have your physician examine and advise you.

Yes: A large artery close under the skin at the temple called the temporal artery. When you are anxious you can see and feel it pulsing with each heart beat.

Something wrong: You need to see your doctor about this . Even without the pain, your resting pulse rate is too high.

Watch it: Check it every week or so. If it does not double in size, nor becomes painful, you may leave it alone. An occasional enlarged lymph node in the neck is not uncommon. Make sure to take care of your oral health to ensure it not due to something in your mouth.

awhile ago after intercourse my right grion was hurting. than i noticed my artery was pusling strong. i can usually see both left right pulsing but that time the right was stronger. its only happened that time should i be considered? i'm 22?

Not concerning: If you are a thin individual then it is not uncommon to notice pulsating arteries. the groin artery is more superficial so it can be easily seen or felt. R groin pain was more likely a strain after intercourse. If the pain persists or you start noticing a bulge unrelated to the artery then a hernia can be a possibility. If not sure have a physician examine the area to alleviate any concerns.

Easy does it, Steve: Most people have a visible vein on each side of the neck, especially when they're lying down, and most people's carotid arteries are visible. These have nothing to do with your lymph nodes. Do you have palpable nodes? A palpable tumor? Is it possible you're just physically fit and your neck structures are thus more visible? The vast majority of swollen nodes in a young guy like you are harmless.
