will a hot pack or a cold pack be better for getting rid of dialited blood vessels? eyes were white until june sinus/ear infection. what else helps?

Depends if it's eye: or ear you are talking about or sinuses. Best if you can have your PCP do a physical exam of your face, ears, nose, eyes, and throat and see what's going on! Never good to shot gun these things as it could be nothing, or it could be more serious and missed. Need to treat the cause of your dilated blood vessels. That will solve two birds with one stone!

the upper part (near my cartilage) of my ear is swollen, tender to touch and warm. i have had previous ear infections. but this is definitely not an ear infection. i have tried putting a heating pad and an ice pack on it.

This : This appears to have the characteristics of an infection involving the cartilage of the the external ear.  You really need to see your physician to have this evaluated.  It will probably require use of powerful antibiotics to calm your infection. Best wishes.

Heat but it depends: Before advising either you need a specific diagnosis. Why is it vein pain? Could be some other reason pain is the vein swollen red and hot? Other important things can cause pain in the leg like blood clots, muscle inflammation, and other and you need to have your physician check it

Seek medical eval: Spleens don't usually cause pain. If there is enlargement, there is a risk for rupture. I recommend being seen at an urgent care or ER facility to assess the real reason for your problem.

No preference medica: it used to be part of the dogma of medicine that cold was to be used the first 48 hours after an injury, and heat after that.  It was argued that after an injury heat would add to the inflammatory response and would make symptoms worse.  The science has not held up, however!  Whatever feels better to you should be used.  No choice is wrong?

Ear infection: Is it the ear canal or the middle ear that is involved? For outer ear/otitis externa/ swimmer's ear there are otc treatments available. Dizziness, however, suggests otitis media & possible labyrinthitis (infection/ inflammation in the balance mechanism). Otc decongestant may help; otc dramamine (dimenhydrinate) (low dose to prevent side effects) can help with dizziness. If not better in couple days, see fp for tx.

i am on my 2nd day of z-pack and have developed a new symptom ,ear pain, if this is an ear infection will z-pack still help?

If...: If you are having an ear infection Z-pack could also help as long as this is related to a bacterial infection. If viral or related to something else it will not. If not better after a few days or pain is severe see your doctor again for reevaluation.
