No: Myositis itself does not kill provided heart muscles are not affected. Patients die from complications from myosotis like heart, lung, infraction etc.

Life is not 100%: In real life, things are "never" 100% certain, except for perhaps "death and taxes".  There are infectious pathogens, such as certain viruses, that can cause myositis.  There are other causes of myositis that have nothing to do with infections.  If the cause of one's myositis is an infectious pathogen, then that person's myositis may (but not always) be contagious.  Life is never exact.

Inflammation: myositis in by definition an inflammation of muscle. It can be viral, fungal or bacterial. Biopsy is the definitive method.

Not rare: Myositis ossificans can occur with any muscle injury that produces an inflammatory response. It often occurs and resolves without us knowing it. The more severe ones are associated with bigger injuries, so we follow them more closely. Since it is not harmful, we encourage stretching and rest to give it a chance to resolve or play its course.

i've been diagnosed with chronic myositis/myalgia for over a yr  now. i'm stumped. am i disabled, no one wants to hire me because of the meds i take?

Not disabled: You need more precise dx. Myositis is muscle inflammation for which rx (approved or even off-label) may reduce symptoms. Myalgia is muscle pain w/o inflammation also treatable but often with adaptive behavioral changes, low impact exercise, yoga, etc. Rx may help also. No reason to give up or go on disability. See a rheumatologist.

i am suffering from myositis fibrosis the last 17 years. have the bone surgeons fixed my bone properly?

Rare Disease: The cause of the disease is unknown, and treatment has little effect on its progress.
The most that such treatments can be expected to accomplish
is to prevent deformities from occurring as a result of the 
contracture of the fibrous tissues.

just recently diagnosed with myositis, osteoarthris in my knees and feet, how worried should i be about this, seems that nothing works for me.

Depends on true diag: At age 38 you are young to have a diagnosis of osteoarthritis. You need to clarify whether the diagnosis of myositis is actually  myofascial pain. Clarifying the diagnosis is important for therapy. You need to exercise, control your weight and other therapy depending on the correct diagnosis.

Diffuse muscle aches: Usually it is a diffuse aching of the muscles in many parts of your body.

Its Inflammation of: The muscles, caused by an injury, an infection, any medicine/chemical injections, bleeding ( from an injury) in or around a muscle.
