Face swelling: Face swelling can be due to infection as well as a blocked salivary gland duct .  This should be evaluated by your doctor to see if antibiotics are necessary.  In the mean time Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen can reduce pain and discomfort.

Determine the cause: When the cause of the pain is determined, you can have the problem treated and alleviate the symptoms. Facial swelling is usually associated with a dental problem, so you should call a dentist first thing monday morning for an appointment. In the meantime otc pain meds will help. Sounds like you also need an antibiotic.

Likely infection: Not because you were messing with it over night. There are a lot of possibilities.  Most likely it is an iinfection. If it is not getting worse see a dentist tomorrow. If it is getting worse go to the er.

A likely infection: It's probably an infection and you should see your dentist immediately as untreated infections can spread quickly, cause serious complications and even be life threatening. You don't have to have pain necessarily to have a serious infection.  If it is an infection, the pain will likely come soon enough.

Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) HC: There are many causes of itching. In most cases, the cause is an allergy. If one experiences any difficulty breathing they must go to an emergency room or urgent care center immediately.

The simplest treatment would be to take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (25-50mg) and apply 1% Hydrocortisone ointment 4 times per day. Do not apply anything else to the face (make-up, wrinkle creams, etc) until the rash resolves.
